Paris Saint-Germain vs Girona fc Match Preview
Paris Saint-Germain are the only Ligue 1 team who have a 100% record after first 4 matches.
Already having an impressive +13 goal difference in the French league, made them confident after making a positive start to the new season, now they have their first two Champions League contests against Girona and Arsenal.
The Champions League has been out of luck for PSG,as they lost the 2019-20 final to Bayern Munich which was the closest that they have ever come to the cup.
PSG will aim to make a strong start to the newly formed Champions League , as they head into this fixture by just loosing 1 of their last 36 home games in the competition since the start of 2012-13 and that 1 defeat was against Manchester United in October 2020 with a score line of 2-1.
On the other hand, 2023-24 La Liga campaign was historic for Girona ,and they started this new season, having 7 points till now with 2 won, 1 draw and 2 loss in their opening 5 matches.
They will play their first ever Champions League match.
Girona is one of the underdogs this season, but they can take inspiration from the fact that the last three Spanish debutants in the competition had advanced to the knockout rounds (Villarreal in 2005-06, Sevilla in 2007-08 and Malaga 2012-13).
